Chopper Fans were beating down the doors when Harley for sale in Sterling, Illinois

$7

Chopper Fans were beating down the doors when Harley Davidson introduced the Wide Glide (FXWG) in 1980. Harley had introduced the idea of the "factory custom" back in 1971 with the Super Glide but took it a step further with FXWG by giving it a true chopper appearance with Fat Bob fuel tanks, wide-spaced fork tubes, a spoked 21-inch front wheel and a stepped saddle. They also incorporated a 4 speed tranny equipped with a kick starter and of course the 80 inch Big Twin Shovelhead stepped up performance considerably over the 74 inch it replaced. This Wide Glide was taken down to the frame and rebuilt less than 600 miles ago at which time it received a set 12? ape hangers, twisted 80 spoke chrome wheels, billet forward controls, custom grips with matching pegs, a stretched metal tank and custom stretched fenders front and rear. The frame was painted silver and everything else black as it should be. Within the last 50 miles it was completely serviced with new whitewalls on both ends, new brakes, new fluids, new filters, a new stater, a new alternator, a new battery and an external oil cooler was added to keep her cool. It also has a performance exhaust that sounds just plain nasty ripping down the road. If you are looking for a lightly customized, nostalgic classic, you will be hard pressed to find one this nice for what we are asking so don?t wait to call because when this one won?t last long!
